Lieberman retains his chairmanship

The video below comes via the Daily Kos and YouTube.

Sen. Evan Bayh (D-IN) has said that Sen. Joe Lieberman (I-CT) needs to publicly apologize for his actions during the recent U.S. Presidential Campaign in order to retain his seat as Chairman of the Homeland Security Committee. Lieberman, now an independent, supported Republican John McCain despite having run as a Democrat as Vice President on the ticket with Al Gore in 2000.

However, no apology was forthcoming. He still retained his seat. Go figure.

The video shows why Democrats have been miffed about Lieberman’s previous rhetoric and how he changed his tune between 2006 and 2008. Apparently, a potential offer to run as McCain’s running mate had much influence on his change of tune.
