IMPORTANT: Message to Bronze Members Only

This is a special message only for Bronze members of Credit Writedowns Pro. A few months ago, I told you that I was streamlining the blog’s membership offerings because I didn’t have the bandwidth to put out content for a tiered service. The problem was that I was charging you for a daily links post and I really couldn’t guarantee that I was going to write it. That is just not proper. So, since then, I have instead given you the links posts for free until I decided what I was going to do about the memberships.

I still haven’t decided as it turns out. And I have been able to keep up a near daily schedule on the links post, which I am happy about. However, I am still shutting down the Bronze membership level. I don’t want to leave you all empty handed though because you all have supported this site and I thank you for that. That’s why I have been doing the links posts for free for the last two months. At the same time, it seems unfair to try to upsell you to the Gold product since you are probably in on the Bronze tier because the full-price offering was expensive.

Here’s what I will do instead. I will offer you each an opportunity to upgrade to Gold at $14.99 a month instead of the normal $39.99 rate. This offer is only available for bronze members and the page here where the offer resides is actually only viewable by all of you. I want to limit this offer to all of you because I think it’s something that Bronze members can benefit from. And it’s my way of saying thanks for supporting the site.

Another thing I wanted to do is ask you all if there would be another way of dealing with the paid site. Please contact me and tell me what you think using the contact form or by emailing me at [email protected].

Here is the idea. I was excited to here about Andrew Sullivan’s experiment over at the Daily Beast. Basically, he is making his site available only to registered users using a metered paywall that gives limited free access. And users get to decide how much they are willing to pay based on their budgets. That’s an innovative approach that really widens the audience because not everyone can spend $399 a year for a membership subscription. So my thinking is that I could do something similar here and by doing that, widen the membership somewhat. Let me know if that’s something you think could work and feel free to shoot me other ideas you have on this. Based on your feedback, I may go to the general Credit Writedowns audience and ask them if there’s something like that they would like to do.

Anyway, that is it for now. I’m sorry that I have to shut down the bronze tier. But I really have to find a way to concentrate on the premium tier in order to make this a viable product financially or I am going to close shop. I have appreciated your readership and hope you continue to follow me and support my site. Above all, I look forward to hearing your feedback.

Thank you all,

Edward
