Peppering one’s speech y’know with excessive y’know pauses such as y’know this, destroys y’know the flow and y’know makes it y’know very difficult y’know to comprehend y’know whatever underlying y’know message is trying y’know to be y’know communicated, y’know?
It is better to just pause and say nothing instead of reducing conversation to Valley-Girl Volleyball. I understand it is difficult to shake such habits, but one should make an effort, and in time, the problem will correct itself.
