I think they are going to find it tough, however it’s clear both M$ and Nokia are going to spend big in a effort to make an impression on the smart phone market. Much as I detest almost everything about M$ I hope they don’t crash and burn because if M$ has shown us anything it’s what happens to a market when one vendor dominates..
Microsoft can compete only from position of total dominance (think desktop ), thus I don’t see them viable in mobile space.
Besides, their “patent trolling” practices are going to return and bite them in their posterior. Linux tax, my ass.
