The Big Interview with Daniel Yergin

Daniel Yergin is the author of the Pulitzer-Prize winning book ‘The Prize‘, a stellar run through of the oil industry that is on Credit Writedowns’ recommended reading list. Below is a twenty-minute interview of Yergin by the Wall Street Journal’s David Wessel. Yergin discusses the recent uprisings in the Middle East and what they mean for the oil industry and the global economy. He tells Wessel that the conflict represents a "sea change" for the global oil market and that he sees the economies of the U.S. and emerging markets as most vulnerable to rising oil prices.

Note: Yergin seems positive on the shale gas play that is very controversial due to environmental concerns. See my post ‘Gas and Natural Gas Drilling‘.
